Autumn is here, and with autumn often comes a number of rainy days here in Lofoten.

Not sure what to do on a rainy day in Nusfjord? Fortunately, there are many activities to choose from and lots of fun things to do, and if you want to be outdoors, proper clothing is the key.

Food experiences

Fortunately, there is a lot of amazing food to explore, both for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Start the day with a delicious breakfast at Restaurant Karoline, and head to Landhandleriet Café for lunch. Great sandwiches, delicious baked goods and a nice coffee in the cozy premises are just right for a rainy day. For dinner, for example, you can explore the menu at Restaurant Karoline, which always reflects seasonal and local produce, or enjoy a delicious pizza at Oriana Kro.

SUP

SUP or Stand Up Paddleboard is a fantastic activity that allows you to cruise on the water and immerse yourself in nature like never before. Even in the rain! With a SUP board you can explore hidden coves, majestic mountains and the calm atmosphere of Nusfjord. Whether you are an experienced paddler or a beginner, we have the perfect board for you. Our experienced instructors will provide thorough training and guidance before you set off on your adventure.

You can hire a wetsuit from us, so that the experience on a slightly cold autumn day will be the best possible.

Gallery

Our gallery Salteriet Galleri is open so you can visit and enjoy art over two floors. The gallery is located in the heart of Nusfjord, where roe was previously salted and stored. The building was then transformed into an art gallery where today art is displayed and communicated over two floors. On the first floor, curated exhibitions of art in all genres are shown. On the second floor, exhibitions are organized in collaboration with QSPA (The Queen Sonja Print Award).

Arctic spa

What’s better than a trip to the spa on a gray rainy day? Sink into the nurturing spring water and recharge your batteries with the fantastic sea view. In our spa you will find both a traditional wood-fired hot tub, a sauna and an outdoor shower. In addition to this, you can also book treatments such as massage and body scrub, perfect for recharging the batteries.

Explore local products

At Landhandleriet Kafé there is, in addition to plenty of good food, many local products to explore. The Landhandleriet was formerly the office of the owner himself, Mr. Dahl. The old general store was established as early as 1907 and has retained its original interior, so that you are taken back in time when you enter. Look for unique details and memorabilia from the busy days as a shop and post office for the local residents!

Now you can find local treasures such as clothes, soaps, yarn and much more in Landhandelen.
